Eisbären Berlin are one of the most recognisable and successful clubs in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga with roots dating back to 1954. The club from the German capital have won 12 German championship titles since 1990. Prior to that, the club were champions of East Germany 15 times under the name SC Dynamo Berlin. The team also finished third at the 1983/84 European Cup.
In light of the many successful years in the recent past and as the only former East German club in the DEL, die Eisbären have built a huge fanbase across the country. The turn of the century marked big changes for the club, leading to unprecedented success for the club, with seven titles in a nine-year span between 2004 and 2013. During this time, Berlin also won the European Trophy in 2010.
The German side have participated in eight past seasons of the Champions Hockey League, making it as far as the Quarter-Finals in 2024/25. Despite major domestic success, Berlin have had mixed results against Europe's best.
