The total number of unique browsers during the four days was 225,158 for a daily average of 56,289, which accumulated a total of 1, 417,069 page views, averaging 354,267 page views daily.
The 44 games were attended by 145,477 fans in 22 cities across Europe for a game average of 3,306.
“These are very encouraging numbers for a startup venture like us,” said CHL CEO Martin Bauman. “Despite some initial challenges on our digital platforms, the numbers increased substantially after opening day and almost 300,000 visits in just four days of hockey in August shows that European hockey fans have a desire for international competition on club level.”
“Also, the attendance figures make us very happy,” said Baumann. “We had over 6,000 in Berlin and Linköping and over 5,000 in Hamburg and Geneva. This is very good during a period when many fans just returned from or still are on vacation. We have set a base, and come September, October we should come close to the attendance average of the respective national leagues.”
Game Day 3 & 4 will be played on 4-7 September. Check the schedule and TV-listings here.
