It's official. Tuesday's Champions Hockey League Final betwen Frolunda Gothenburg and Sparta Prague is sold out. The home club confirmed on Sunday that all tickets made available for sale to the public at Frolundaborgs Isstadion have been taken.
“I am pleased to hear that the CHL Final is sold out,” said CHL CEO Martin Baumann. “It shows of course the importance of this ultimate game where the best of the best, Frolunda Gothenburg and Sparta Prague, crown this season’s European club champion. But on the top of that, it is an important signal to the Swedish market, where the Champions Hockey League still faces some challenges. I’m looking forward to a thrilling game and an enthralling atmosphere in Gothenburg on Tuesday.”
This is the third straight year in which the CHL Final has been sold out. In 2015, Lulea Hockey defeated Frolunda 4-2 before 6,300 fans at Lulea's Coop Norrbotten Arena. Last year at Oulun Energia Areena, 6,614 watched Frolunda beat hometown Karpat Oulu 2-1. Capacity of Frolundaborgs Isstadion is listed at 6,044.
