HC Davos vs Djurgarden Stockholm
Following their 6-0 drubbing in Stockholm last week, Davos host Djurgarden with the visits through to the next round if they take at least a point from the game. A regulation win for Davos won't see either side make the next round; however, it will mean that Rouen need to win both of their home games against these two teams to force a three-way tie in the group at best.
On the first meeting between the temas, Davos defenceman Noah Schneeberger said, "The Swedes played with a lot of speed. They too the lead very early, which we obviously didn't react well to. We took too many penalties, 13 of them. Djurgarden took advantage very well and scored four goals on the power play."
Looking ahead to tonight, he said, "In the second leg we need to make sure that we take less punishment. We also need to work much better defensively. And on offence, we need more work around the net. We have to get shots on goal. It is also necessary that we use the body more consistently and not let them fore-check so easily. Our game is successful if we play hard and with speed and not let the opponent dictate the play."
Djurgarden's Jeff Tambellini scored all four of his team's power-play goals in the last meeting between the teams. A former NLA player, he knows to expect better from Davos this time around. “Those guys are a top team, and they play even better at home. We'll play a good team Friday night, in front of their home crowd. We know it will be a great test and we'll see if we can push back again.”
