As attention switches towards the CHL Semi-Finals, we take a look at how the final four have been doing lately in their own leagues.

Both Swedish teams go into the Champions Hockey League Semi-Finals in top form, with the Vaxjo Lakers the best teams of the four left in the competition over recent games. The Lakers have won six straight SHL games, and seven in a row if you count their home win over ZSC in the CHL, making their last loss to Frolunda Gothenburg on 10 December. Sam Hallam's men have got themselves up to second in the standings thanks to that run. Frolunda, meanwhile, continue to lead the SHL, some 12 points clear of Vaxjo. The Indians have won three straight in the league, and lost only one of their last nine matches in all competitions.

A defeat last night in Litvinov ended Sparta Prague's two-game winning streak as they prepare to head to Sweden in the CHL. Sparta, who sit fifth in the Extraliga after 35 games played, could have gone level with Litvinov on points with a win, but now trail by six – although do have a pair of games in hand. Those two wins were however much needed after a miserable Christmas period.

Wins over Kloten and Biel had Fribourg-Gotteron on a two-game winning streak before going down to the latter 4-2 two nights ago, which had moved them off the bottom of the table. A win for Ambri on penalty shots last night, however, moved them back up a place, and sees Fribourg take on Frolunda currently ranked last in the NLA.
