The clubs advancing to the CHL playoffs were allowed to re-inforce their rosters, with some new additions that are quite recognisable to international hockey fans. Read below to find out which players have been added to which team.
Press Release
With the group stage finished, the 16 teams that have qualified for the CHL playoff round have the option of adding up to three players to their CHL rosters. Six clubs elected to add the maximum three players, while 15 added at least one.
Perhaps the biggest name added is Canadian veteran and former NHLer Matthew Lombardi, who was added to Genève-Servette's roster. He played with the Swiss club last season, but missed the CHL group stage as he attended the training camp of the New York Rangers. Other names that will be familiar to NHL fans include Andreas Nödl with the Vienna Capitals and Rob Schremp of Skellefteå AIK. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Russian Nikolai Goldobin comes on loan from the San Jose Sharks to re-inforce IFK Helsinki's roster.
Below are the roster additions for the CHL playoff clubs. Included with each player's name is his position, year of birth and, in cases where it's different from the club, nationality.
