Škoda Auto is well known in its association with international ice hockey, and that now extends into Europe's premier club championship, the Champions Hockey League.
Press Release
MLADÁ BOLESLAV, Czech Republic/ZUG, Switzerland – Czech car manufacturer ŠKODA has signed a two-year agreement to become an Official Sponsor of the Champions Hockey League.
As part of the deal, ŠKODA will receive branding on perimeter boards across all 161 games of the competition in TV camera view and full integration across all communication and promotional materials – including the website and streaming platform www.championshockeyleague.net. From the start of the playoffs, the logo will be highly visible as a result of under-ice advertising, whilst at the semi-finals and finals promotional car displays will also be featured next to the ice rink.
More than 20 years of ice hockey involvement
With its involvement in the Champions Hockey League, the Czech car manufacturer is extending on over two decades of commitment to international ice hockey. Since 1992, ŠKODA has been committed to the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, which is the longest main sponsorship of any world championship. The opportunity with the Champions Hockey League – as a strong fixture for the future European ice hockey calendar – means the brand can take advantage of an ideal platform to ensure continuous exposure throughout the whole year.
Bruno Marty, Executive Director Winter Sports of Infront, added: “ŠKODA is one of the most renowned and long-term supporters of ice hockey and therefore a valuable addition for the Champions Hockey League. The brand’s commitment confirms the competition’s assured position among the top-level sports events in Europe and the high value of the Champions Hockey League title in Pan-European club ice hockey. Comprehensive TV and online coverage across Europe and North America will transmit the ŠKODA brand into its target markets and to the fans of the leading European clubs.”
