There were some tense moments, but Sparta Prague earned a 6-3 home-ice win to clinch top spot in Group G and advance as the only Czech team in the playoff stage. And in their last game, Valerenga Oslo earned their first point in a shootout loss to Farjestad Karlstad.

Sparta Prague 6-3 Adler Mannheim

Sparta needed a three-point win to advance and when Mannheim scored early in the second period to take a 2–1 lead, things looked uncertain. The team from the Czech capital stormed back, though, ultimately taking it 6–3 to secure their trip to the next round. Tomas Rolinek had a three-point game, which included an incredible assist on the game-winning goal when he passed to Petr Kumstat while being hooked to the ice.

"We had a tough start, I think the shots were 22–4 in the first period, but the guys did a good job getting back into it," said Mannheim coach Geoff Ward. "I think the turning point was when it was 2–2 and we had that 5-on-3 and didn't score and they came back shortly after that and went ahead. Unfortunately we weren't able to come back from that, but Sparta played a good hockey game and I wish them luck the rest of the way."

"It was a tough game, we got off to a good start but they played very well," said Sparta defenceman Marek Daloga. "I'm so glad we won and we're moving on because this is fun hockey. These Champions League games are a little faster, and the Germans play more like the Canadian style. The Czech league is a bit more tactical, but both are good. Our goal was to win the group and go as far as possible, so we're all glad to have taken that first step."

Valerenga Oslo 1-2 Farjestad Karlstad (SO)

They'd been close before, but Valerenga Oslo finally earned a point to the delight of their home fans. Regional rival Farjestad Karlstad out-shot them 39–20 over 65 minutes of hockey but Steffen Soberg was brilliant in net, only giving up one goal late in the second period to Jesper Jensen to tie the score. Cramo Top Scorer Alexander Bonsaksen had earlier given the home team the lead. Ultimately, Farjestad prevailed in a shootout to finish Group B in second place with 10 points.
