The Champions Hockey League Sports board has taken disciplinary action based on an incident from the Djurgarden Stockholm–EV Zug game on Friday, 4 September.

With input from the Arbitrator and upon video review, player Pierre-Marc Bouchard (#96) of EV Zug, at 58:31 of the game on Friday, 4 September vs Djurdgarden Stockholm, made contact with an opponent deemed Kneeing – IIHF Rule 153.
From the CHL Sports Board's perspective, it is clear that Pierre-Marc Bouchard‘s action requires supplementary discipline. The opposing player did have an apparent injury on the play. The kneeing action was elevated to supplementary discipline due to: 1) the extension of Bouchard's knee in the direction of the oppenent, 2) the original and primary point of contact is knee to knee, and 3) the opposing player was left with no alternative to proctect himself. It was taken into consideration the opposing player also had a very wide stance; however, the opposing player did not alter or substantially change his stance to create the knee to knee contact.
From the perspective of the CHL Sports Board, Pierre-Marc Bouchard is suspended for 1 CHL game, effective immediately.
