The 2025/26 Champions Hockey League Final saw a heated duel between two hungry SHL teams in Gothenburg's Scandinavium, ending in a spectacular home victory for Frölunda Gothenburg, who lifted the European Trophy for a record fifth time.
Ivar Stenberg, a top prospect of the upcoming NHL Entry Draft, became a European Club Champion, sealing his first major trophy in his senior hockey career.

"I'm so happy we got the victory," said the 18-year-old after the game, "it was a good game. Luleå were really good!"
Though Frölunda really pushed throughout the game, Luleå Hockey were resilient in not letting them gain any big advantage. When all looked done and dusted late in the third period, the hosts, playing without their goalie in favour of an extra skater, scored an equaliser with just 16 seconds left on the clock to force overtime.
But while on a man-advantage following a holding the stick call on Luleå's Mathias Bromé, Frölunda scored the game-winner to further cement themselves in the CHL history books.
"Winning the CHL will be something I will take with me my entire life," said Stenberg after the game, confirming his hunger for more success.
"To win the trophy with all the guys means so much to me," he added.
Though he didn't score in CHL Final 2026, the young player played 12 games across the 2025/26 season of Europe's elite club ice hockey competition, scoring twice and recording an assist. In the Final, the Swede recorded nearly 17 minutes of ice time, mainly playing in Frölunda's third line.
