HC Bolzano forward Marco Insam and his team head north this weekend on the road knowing their opponents won't be taking anything for granted on home ice.
The Foxes won both of their home games last week (over IFK Helsinki, and Skellefteå AIK in a shootout) to sit top of their group with five points.
"For sure they'll come out for revenge," admitted the 29-year-old. "Our biggest key is to stay out of the box, because teams are going to start studying us now so I think that's the biggest fact for these games. We have to just worry about our game, playing solid for the full 60 minutes."
For Insam the game against IFK Helsinki will be a little more special as the forward played in the Liiga last season for Ässät. "It's great to be going back there, and hopefully I'm able to see some friends I played with last year," he explained. "I really enjoyed playing in Finland, although it wasn't in Helsinki. For me personally it was a great experience there."
"The fans were great, 6000 people in our rink over two games. They are seriously our seventh man!"Marco Insam
What was Insam most proud of from his team in their opening two wins? "Everyone sacrificed their bodies - getting in the shooting lanes to block shots, finishing their hits. We played with a lot of heart and passion, so this was our biggest success."
Finally, the Foxes are now in a great position to qualify for the next round, but how does the team see it? "It was a great opening weekend for us, we came out with five points and now we're preparing for the road trip in Scandinavia," said the winger. "We just take it day by day. Obviously we've put ourselves in a great position but that doesn't mean a lot when we still have four games left. We're just trying to do our best this weekend and see where we go from there."
