The Lahti Pelicans beat Italian side HC Bolzano 4-3 in Overtime during their Game Day 5 clash. The game saw the Pelicans be one step behind their hosts, as the Finns spent the 60 minutes of regulation playing catch-up.
"Honestly, it was a sloppy game from us," said the CHL's All-Time Top Scorer Ryan Lasch rather bluntly, "obviously we're happy with the two points but we definitely aren't happy with how we played."

Before they took matters into their own hands in OT, Lasch & co had to fight back from 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 down as Bolzano, who sit second to last in the Regular Season Standings following GD5, looked surprisingly strong
"I do think it's important to win games like this from a character perspective, it was a proper battle," added Lasch, highlighting how the dramatic fashion of the game can help the team move forward at such an early stage of the season.
Lahti finished on the final non-advancing position following Game Day 5. The Finnish team still have the final Game Day to secure a spot in the Playoffs which would be a first for their organisation.
