Finnish side Lukko Rauma faced the Belfast Giants on Game Day 1 of the Champions Hockey League season, beating them 3-1 at home.
After a cautious first period from both sides, it would be visitors Belfast who would score the first goal of the game at 29:18 with both sides neck and neck. Lukko's Sebastian Repo scored the equaliser just four minutes later and a two-goal final frame secured the Finns three points from their season-opener.
"I thought it was a very fast-paced game," said Brayden Burke, who scored Lukko's second goal of the game - a nice tap-in by the post following a turnover in Belfast's defensive zone, "they came to play from the start!"

Burke also picked up two assists and finished the night on three points alongside linemates Julius Mattila and Repo: "It was my first time playing on that line so I'm really happy with how that went - hopefully more to come!"
Despite the scoreline - this was a very close game which could have gone either way. Lukko especially struggled in the first 20 minutes.
"The second and third was better from us - that's the hockey we want to play," commented Burke.
How well were Lukko able to follow their set game plan?
"Well," replied Burke, "it's the first real tough game of the season so everyone came in ready to go but we've still got some little things to clean up."
Lukko's next CHL game is against the Aalborg Pirates in Denmark on Sunday, 3 September at 17:00 CEST.
