Brynäs & Třinec to battle for Semi-Final berth

A pair of teams that qualified as league semi-finalists last year, Brynäs IF and Oceláři Třinec now meet to decide who will go to that round of the Champions Hockey League for the first time this season – only one of them will.
While both teams are strong at both ends of the ice, it will be interesting to see if the stingy defence of Třinec – led by goaltender Šimon Hrubec – can contain the high-flying offence of Brynäs. Třinec have been among the leaders of the Czech Extraliga all season, while Brynäs have struggled in the first half of the Swedish Hockey League season.
