The Champions Hockey League has confirmed the allocation of the first four Challenger League places for the upcoming season. The national champions from the following leagues will once again join Europe’s premier club ice hockey competition:
- Denmark
- France
- Norway
- Poland
A fifth Challenger League place will be announced in due time as soon as the decision is finalised. Challenger League places are reviewed and allocated by the CHL for every season. The decision is made by taking several criteria such as sportive competitiveness, management structure, infrastructure and attendance figures into careful consideration.
The new CHL season will once again feature 24 teams. Joining reigning CHL Champions Frölunda Gothenburg will be three teams from each of the Shareholder Leagues, complemented by the five Challenger League representatives.
