After five Game Days of the 2026/27 CHL Regular Season, the Race for the Playoffs is still far from over, with seven teams still in the battle for the final four places in the Round of 16, depending on the results of the twelve games scheduled for Game Day 6.
The 12 teams already qualified for the Playoffs will all be on the hunt for more valuable points as they will look to get into the best possible position in the Regular Season Standings, while for the four top-ranked teams - HC Pilsen, Kölner Haie, Dynamo Pardubice and Skellefteå AIK - Game Day 6 is their final chance to pick up points in the race for the Regular Season Winners crown!
The first day of Game Day 6 action will see KooKoo Kouvola face Adler Mannheim in Finland at 17:30 CEST, while at 18:00 CEST, Dynamo Pardubice and the Växjö Lakers will clash for a heated duel in the Enteria Arena.
National champions will collide when GKS Tychy and Tappara Tampere clash in Poland at 18:00 CEST, while at the very same time in neighbouring Slovakia, HK Nitra will take on Rögle Ängelholm.
19:00 CEST will see Frölunda Gothenburg face Bordeaux Boxers in Sweden, but even further north, the first day of GD6 action will come to an end when Skellefteå AIK face Red Bull Salzburg in their game scheduled for 19:00 CEST.
Tie-Breaking Rules
If two or more clubs are tied in points during or after the conclusion of the Regular Season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:
- Greater number of wins in regulation time (3-point wins)
- Greater number of wins in total (regulation time wins (W) + overtime and shootout wins (OTW))
- Better goal difference (GDF)
- More goals scored (GF)
- Greater number of points in away games (APTS)
- More away goals scored (AGF)
- The higher position in the CHL Draw pot allocation
The tie-breaking formula also applies in the overall accumulated team record. For clarity: In case two teams are still tied after the 6th tie-breaker, the higher position in the CHL Draw pot allocation for the current season will decide the position in the overall standings.
