Following the Group Stage Draw for the 2022/23 season of the Champions Hockey League, we spoke to representatives of the teams drawn into Group D to find out their thoughts about their opponents.
Group D features reigning CHL Champions Rögle Ängelholm, Switzerland's ZSC Lions Zurich, Hungary's Fehérvár AV19 and Poland's GKS Katowice, who will both make their debuts in the CHL later this year.
"I see this is a huge opportunity for us to showcase ourselves on Europe's biggest ice hockey stage," said Fehérvár's General Manager Viktor Szelig.
GKS Katowice Vice President Lukasz Czopik said that his side have "great respect for everyone who participates in such an event," adding, "I hope we can compete on a reasonable level."
Rögle's Sports Director Chris Abbott was at the event representing the 2022 CHL Champions saying: "It's an exciting group. We have a team we know very well - ZSC Lions Zurich, having faced them last season."
"It's a tough group," said Roger Gemperle of Zurich, "we're going to come up against the defending champions, who we played over two games last year and two new teams who will be very interesting to play against. We look forward to meeting them!"
