Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Odense Bulldogs' six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Danish team - here's what they had to say!
ZSC Lions Zurich General Manager Sven Leuenberger: “I don’t know this team well enough yet to make detailed statements. However, the Danish national team recently showed that many good players come from Denmark.”
Kometa Brno Head Coach Kamil Pokorný: “It will be interesting to see how the confrontation with Danish hockey will go. I expect Odense to live up to the word “Bulldogs” that is right in the name of the club. They will be a quality, fierce and tough opponent.”
Mountfield HK Head Coach Tomáš Martinec: “The Danish champions are a very strong and difficult opponent - like nearly every team from Northern Europe. We’re definitely not expecting an easy game, but it will be our first home game in the CHL and we’ll do everything we can to win it.”
Red Bull Salzburg Head Coach Manny Viveiros: “Another team I am looking forward to getting to know before we play them. At the most recent World Championship, Denmark once again proved they are a team that can beat anyone. They always produce excellent players on the international stage. Another team we need to bring our best against if we want to take points."
KAC Klagenfurt Head Coach Kirk Furey: "Odense had a really good season that culminated in their first-ever championship. They are a team that will challenge us in front of their fans on home ice, but we see the game as an opportunity to prove our skills and level of play and to be successful.”
ERC Ingolstadt Head Coach Mark French: “We aren’t too familiar with Danish teams so far, so this will be an interesting match-up. As this will be our last Regular Season game, it could have a lot of implications for the final standings.”
