Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Adler Mannheim's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the German team - here's what they had to say!
Växjö Lakers Head Coach Björn Hellkvist: “Mannheim are a team with a lot of experience and high individual quality. They are skilled with the puck and punish mistakes immediately. For us, it will be about being consistent in our game over 60 minutes and making sure the game is played on our terms.”
Skellefteå AIK Head Coach Daniel Hermansson: “Mannheim are one of Europe’s most established clubs with extensive experience in international play. We expect a physical and intense game where attention to detail will be key.”
GKS Tychy Head Coach Pekka Tirkkonen: “Mannheim are one of the biggest clubs in Germany. They play a North American style of hockey - fast, direct and focused on getting the puck to the net in the offensive zone.”
Bordeaux Boxers Head Coach Olivier Dimet: “Mannheim are a big club with an important history in German and European hockey. They have a lot of quality throughout their roster and a great deal of experience at the highest level. For us, welcoming Mannheim to Mériadeck will be a very special moment. This is the kind of game our players and our supporters want to experience. We will have to enjoy the occasion while staying focused on ourselves, our game and our ability to compete.”
Fribourg-Gottéron Head Coach Roger Rönnberg: “After losing the final to Eisbären Berlin, they will for sure be motivated to compete. They always play good hockey and are hard to beat.”
KooKoo Kouvola Head Coach Jouko Myrrä: "Adler Mannheim are one of the biggest clubs in the DEL. Their goal is to win every game and the league title."
