Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Eisbären Berlin's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the German team - here's what they had to say!
Graz99ers Sport Director Philipp Pinter: “An iconic brand that speaks for itself. They have shaped German ice hockey in recent years. Their arenas and all the history there is going to be something very special for us.”
Herning Blue Fox Head Coach Jason O’leary: “The German champions. We’re excited to play in Berlin in front of their great fans.”
KAC Klagenfurt Head Coach Kirk Furey: “Five German championships in six years, Berlin are a real powerhouse and we’re excited to play them again. Last season we were able to beat them on our home ice in what was a great game with fantastic atmosphere. We expect the same buzz this year when we meet again in Berlin, they are a very experienced team that know how to win hockey games.”
Genève-Servette Head Coach Sam Hallam: “Eisbären Berlin are one of Europe’s benchmark clubs. They have built a winning culture over many years and know exactly what it takes to compete for championships. Playing against a team with that experience is a challenge we’re looking forward to.”
HC Davos Head Coach Josh Holden: “This organisation is the most decorated club in the DEL. They always have a strong team and know how to win. We need to bring our best game against this team.”
Red Bull Salzburg Head Coach Alan Letang: “The reigning DEL Champions. They play fast, structured and know how to win tight hockey games. They will force us to dial in our structure and find our identity immediately.”
