Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Fribourg-Gottéron's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Swiss team - here's what they had to say!
HC Pilsen Head Coach Josef Jandač: “Swiss hockey has been on the rise for a long time. Fribourg is a well-organised team, strong both in skating and tactically. In recent years, they have established themselves among Europe’s elite.”
Adler Mannheim Head Coach Dallas Eakins: “The Swiss champions have been building toward this moment for years, and capturing their first title is a remarkable achievement for the club and its supporters. They combine experience, talent and one of the best environments in European hockey. It will be a special challenge for us.”
HK Nitra Head Coach Erik Caladi: “The Swiss champions are widely known for their incredible fanbase and electric atmosphere in the arena. The National League is exceptionally demanding, so we are fully aware of the sheer strength this club possesses. It is another fantastic challenge for us to prepare perfectly and push for a successful result.”
Graz99ers Sport Director Philipp Pinter: “Champions of what is arguably the best league right now. We just saw at the IIHF World Championship how exciting and fast-paced Swiss hockey is. A home game we can really look forward to!”
KAC Klagenfurt Head Coach Kirk Furey: “We played Fribourg in the CHL two years ago and we know that they are a fast team of high quality. Now that they’ve also won the Swiss championship for the first time in their history, there’s no doubt that we’ll face an excellent and tough opponent in them.”
Herning Blue Fox Head Coach Jason O’leary: “Fribourg are the Swiss champions, they’re very skilled and very good on penalty kill.”
