Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Genève-Servette's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Swiss team - here's what they had to say!
Eisbären Berlin Head Coach Éric Dubois: This will be a very challenging start to our CHL campaign. Swiss teams are among the best in Europe. GenèveServette are a team with high-quality players and lots of experience. As 2024 CHL champions, they know how to be successful in the competition. We are prepared to meet a very tough opponent.“
Storhamar Hamar Head Coach Petter Thoresen: “We have played them before and know what we are up against.”
Kölner Haie Head Coach Thomas Berglund: “It’s always tough to play against Swiss teams, especially when they’re among the best in their league. The team has a lot of talent and will enter the competition with high ambitions. With Sam Hallam, they also have an extremely experienced and successful coach on the bench. We’re expecting a tough road game in a great hockey town and are looking forward to testing ourselves against this strong opponent.”
Skellefteå AIK Head Coach Daniel Hermansson: “Genève are a strong team with a lot of quality. We look forward to facing them once again. It will be a great challenge, and we are eager for the opportunity to bounce back after losing the CHL Final against them last time.”
GKS Tychy Head Coach Pekka Tirkkonen: “Geneva are an experienced team with good, skilled imports.”
Växjö Lakers Head Coach Björn Hellkvist: “Genève play with high pace and a lot of confidence. They have shown in recent years that they can compete with anyone in Europe. For us, it will be about maintaining a high work rate and not giving them the space they need to create chances."
