Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Storhamar Hamar's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Norwegian team - here's what they had to say!
KAC Klagenfurt Head Coach Kirk Furey: “Storhamar have been a dominant force in Norwegian hockey throughout the last couple of years and have also had success in their previous CHL participations. We expect to play an experienced group that is hard and tough.”
Frölunda Gothenburg Head Coach Robert Ohlsson: “Norwegian champions and a strong team.”
Graz99ers Sport Director Philipp Pinter: “A real institution in Norwegian hockey. They compete for the title every year and they have an unusually large rink. It’ll be a real challenge for us in terms of skating, too.”
HC Davos Head Coach Josh Holden: “Norway won bronze at this year’s World Championship in Switzerland. They are developing good young hockey players that can perform at elite levels. We need to be ready!”
Genève-Servette Head Coach Sam Hallam: “Storhamar represent Norwegian hockey with great pride. They’re a hard-working, disciplined team that never make games easy. We know they’ll be highly motivated to prove themselves against clubs from the bigger leagues.”
Tappara Tampere Head Coach Kari Jalonen: “Storhamar represent Norwegian hockey and it will be interesting to see the momentum the sport has gained in Norway following the country’s bronze medal at the IIHF World Championship.”
