The Champions Hockey League Sports Board has decided on supplementary discipline against two players – Juha-Pekka Hytönen of JYP Jyväskylä and Noah Welch of the Växjö Lakers – based on two separate incidents that took place during the first games of the Quarterfinals on Tuesday.
Incident 1:
According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence, player Juha-Pekka Hytönen (#15) of JYP Jyväskylä, time 43:59, made contact to an opponent deemed Interference (IIHF Rule 150).
From the perspective of the CHL Sports Board, Hytönen made a body check that was recklessly endangering to the opponent, who was not in possession of the puck, causing an apparent injury.
The CHL Sports Board suspends Hytönen for 2 games, effective immediately.

Incident 2:
According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence, player Noah Welch (#5) of the Växjö Lakers, time 37:03, made contact to an opponent deemed Checking to the Head and Neck Area (IIHF Rule 124).
From the perspective of the CHL Sports Board, Welch used his stick in a manner deemed dangerous, directly at an opposing player’s head.
The CHL Sports Board suspends Welch for 1 game, effective immediately.
