The Champions Hockey League announces the departure of two team members as of the end of August 2025: Chief Operating Officer Monika Reinhard and Marketing & Events Director Philip Schuler.
After nearly a decade of dedicated service, Monika Reinhard has decided to step down from her role as COO. Having joined the CHL in various positions at an early stage of its development, Reinhard has played a vital role in shaping the league’s operations, leading strategic communications, and driving key digital initiatives that have advanced the competition’s growth and overall impact.
Philip Schuler, who has been with the CHL for almost eight years, will also be leaving his position as Marketing & Events Director. Schuler has established and evolved the CHL brand, enhancing its visibility across Europe, and delivering memorable fan experiences both inside and outside the arena.
Both Reinhard and Schuler are moving on to take up new professional challenges as of 1 September 2025, with Reinhard set to join the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation in a newly created role as the Director of Digital Transformation & Strategic Communication.
CHL President Jörgen Lindgren: “Monika and Philip have been at the CHL for many years. Their commitment, expertise, and passion have helped shape the competition into what it is today. While we are sad to see them go, we are grateful for the legacy they leave behind and wish them every success in their next chapters.”

Monika Reinhard: “After nearly ten years, it’s time for me to turn the page and start a new chapter. It has been a privilege to be part of this journey and help shape a competition that stands for European club ice hockey at its best. I’m proud of what we have achieved and deeply thankful for the experiences, the learning, and the incredible people I’ve had the chance to work with. I leave the CHL with a full heart and lasting memories.”
“It has been an exciting journey to contribute to the CHL’s development and positioning across Europe."Philip Schuler
Philip Schuler: “It has been an exciting journey to contribute to the CHL’s development and positioning across Europe. Throughout my time with the CHL, I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects that have shaped the league’s brand and fan experience. I am especially grateful for the trust and support I received, as well as for the close cooperation with our partner Infront Sports & Media and the clubs, which have been essential to our shared success.”
The CHL Board has initiated the recruitment process for both positions and is currently reviewing the league’s management structure to ensure it remains aligned with the strategic direction. While these changes mark the end of an important chapter, they also present an opportunity to bring in new perspectives and further strengthen the organisation. The Board is fully engaged in managing this transition and is confident that it will support the continued development of the CHL and deliver long-term value for the clubs and stakeholders.
