Rungsted Seier Capital’s debut CHL appearance against EV Zug was a relatively one-sided affair, despite Rungsted tying the score in the second period. Rungsted only managed a mere 28 total shots throughout the whole game, 50 less then Zug. Despite being behind for most of the match, Rungsted kept their cool and were able to minimalise penalties, spending only 6 minutes on the bench throughout the whole match! Their discipline is an important factor to consider in this tie, as Czech opponents HC Pilsen one upped them with an astonishing single penalty throughout the whole game.

Last season’s Semi-Finalists Pilsen had a tough time against a very strong HPK Hämeenlinna side. Despite the first goal of the tie coming in the second period, 8 goals into the game the score of the match was tied at 4-4. But Pilsen were able to finish the match off just 2 minutes into overtime. Their determination, discipline and strength were what allowed them to come back from a 2-goal deficit on two occasions throughout the game.
