- Adler Mannheim are already qualified for the Playoffs
- Djurgården’s only loss of the season came at home – 3:6 defeat to the Vienna Capitals
- Adler combine offense and defence – they have the lowest amount of goals against per game and are second in goals scored per game
Group F is far from decided as current top team Adler Mannheim and 2nd placed Djurgården Stockholm have yet to battle it out between each other in the Group Stage. Djurgården have lived up to their pre-season claims of aiming high this year and prepare for a two decisive games against Mannheim. Their nine points at the moment can still not be enough for them to advance to the Playoffs – if fellow group rivals Vienna Capitals win both of their final two games, both teams will be tied on points and other statistics will come into play to determine who goes through to the Playoffs. A single point means a secured qualification spot for Djurgården and they will be looking to gain that point as soon as possible.
Adler Mannheim have started the season even stronger than Djurgården and travel to Sweden with eleven points and off the back of four straight wins from four games. Not only have they been winning and securing points, but their performances have been very dominating – three of their games have ended with scores with a goal difference higher than four! The statistics speak for themselves – they have the second highest amount of scored goals per game, whilst also having the lowest goals against per game. Their only hiccup so far was on the road against GKS Tychy on Game Day 2, when the home side dragged the game to overtime. But that didn’t prove a challenge for Adler, who travelled home with the extra point on the night. Another important factor to consider is that Adler’s 11 points so far are already enough for them to advance to the Playoffs under any circumstances. Will this extra confidence give them focus and calmness to decide the game and secure top spot in Group F?
