- Färjestad need a win of any kind to advance to the Playoffs or hope that Ambrì-Piotta don't win their match tomorrow
- Munich have struggled on the road so far this season – both of their away games have gone to shootouts
- Färjestad haven’t lost a Group Stage match at home this season
With five Group Stage games played and only one remaining Red Bull Munich have a secured qualification spot in the Playoffs, but it’s come right down to the wire for Färjestad Karlstad.
With eight points they currently sit second in the Group G standings but rivals HC Ambrì-Piotta are in a single point’s reaching distance and if the right results add up, it could be them who could be going through to the Playoffs instead. This is a do or die match for Färjestad – a win of any kind will secure them a place amongst the final 16, but if they don’t secure a single point, they will have to rely on tomorrow’s matchup between HC Ambrì-Piotta and HC05 Banská Bystrica and hope that Ambrì also fail to win the game.
On the other hand, Red Bull Munich travel to Karlstad with 12 points from 5 games after an impressive Group Stage run that hase seen them be one of the best teams of the season so far. Their DEL season has also seen them in very impressive form – 11 games in they sit top of the table with a 12-point advantage! At home in the CHL they have only conceded a single goal from three games, but they have struggled on the road. Both of their away games have gone to shootouts and they have only managed to win one.
Can Färjestad’s home fans cheer their team to victory and most importantly to the Playoffs?
