- Crucial Group D game
- Yunost have never won a road CHL game
- Lausanne HC looking for second win in a row
Lausanne HC’s home Champions Hockey League debut sees them take on a tricky Yunost Minsk side.
Lausanne’s opening weekend in the competition saw them slip to a defeat in Belarus after overtime, but then bounce back with a shootout win in Lahti. Those results leave them well in the hunt to qualify from Group D, but needing to make sure their home games count. The Swiss team have had no prolem scoring goals so far with seven in two; but they’ll need to tighten up in their own end – seven against until now;
Yunost top the group after taking fix of six possible points on home ice, where their strong form continued. The problem for teams from Belarus in recent Champions Hockey League seasons has been that they’ve often not travelled well, however Yunost will look to Neman Grodno’s overtime in in Zug last season as proof of what they could achieve. If they’re going to have a realistic shot at making the next stage, they’ll need to pick something up from their road trip this week.
