- SC Bern and Grenoble both looking to keep their playoff dreams alive
- Bern have gone to overtime or a shootout in all of their CHL games so far
- Grenoble have picked up eight wins from nine games in domestic action ahead of Game Day 5
SC Bern host this meeting between the sides but they’re still searching for their first CHL win at home this year. After picking up back-to-back wins in their first two games on the road as they travelled to Sweden and Finland, they returned home and fell behind in both games against Skellefteå AIK and Kärpät Oulu in shootouts, with all four of their games so far needing an extra session beyond regulation. Through 10 games in their domestic league, the Swiss side have mustered just four wins, but will be looking to start a good run of form on Tuesday against Grenoble. Once again Mark Arcobello has been the go to guy for Bern, putting up 10-points in domestic action, while also leading the side in the CHL so far with five-points from the first four games, and he’ll be just one of many impressive forwards on the side that will help keep the team in the qualification battle.
In their second ever CHL appearance, Grenoble are looking to make their first playoffs, having just missed out back in 2015. Now in their second appearance they’re looking for their second win of the campaign after they picked up what could be a crucial victory against Skellefteå on Game Day 2. With three-points to their name so far, they’ll need a big start against Bern on Tuesday to keep their dreams of progressing alive, and they’ll look to playmaker Alex Aleardi to keep up his fine form to help the side in the next two games. Through nine games in the French league, Aleardi may have just one goal to his name, but he’s also had a staggering 17 assists, while Joel Champagne and Denny Kearney have also had an incredible start to the season as the trio fill the top three spots in league scoring so far.
