- Jastrzębie looking for first win
- Bolzano two for two so far this season
- Bolzano secured the extra point from last week's game that was decided by an OT shootout
With two wins from two games on the road, HC Bolzano have had a great start within Group H. The Italians took Polish side JKH GKS Jastrzębski in their first match to a shootout (3-2). In their second game, it was a slightly easier feat (5-1) against Norwegian side Frisk Asker.
Forwards Brett Findlay and Daniel Catenacci are leading the scoring with three points a piece after two games. Goalies Kevin Boyle and Justin Fazio have split games so far, and are sitting on save averages of 0.976 and 0.933 respectively.
Jastrzębie in comparison have had both a challenging and promising start to their debut season. The Polish side have lost two games narrowly, and by the same margin. Firstly to Bolzano at home in a shootout, and secondly to Red Bull Salzburg who beat the side 3-2 in regular time.
While the losses are no doubt frustrating for Jastrzębie, their performance remains outstanding against teams who have a considerable amount of Champions Hockey League experience. Forwards Dominik Jarosz and Maciej Urbanowicz lead the scoring with a duo of points, while Patrik Nechvátal has been the go-to netminder for the Polish team, and is sitting on a 0.923 save percentage after two games and 125 playing minutes.
