Swiss side Fribourg-Gottéron took on Oceláři Třinec on Game Day 1 and didn't disappoint the home fans in attendance. It was dominant puck control by Fribourg for most of the game, who finished 6-2 against the Czech side. 

Points were spread evenly with forwards Nathan Marchon, Andrei Bykov, Jordann Bougro and Christopher DiDomenico all picking up duos in their first game of the season.

Slovan Bratislava faced off against Swedish rivals Leksands IF, and despite a strong start by the Slovakian side, the Swedes came back hard from a deficit to take the game 5-3. Slovan's 25-year-old forward Jakub Sukel led the charge, registering two points.

As the most successful team in Slovakia's top league, Slovan will be looking to regroup and push for a better result, while the Swiss side get to enjoy the home ice advantage, and will aim to repeat another solid performance.
