- Three teams can still qualify out of Group D, with only two points separating them
- Munich occupy top spot heading into the final Group Stage games
- Zug are currently outside the qualification spots
It's set to be a great finish to Group D action of this year's Champions Hockey League season, and as Red Bull Munich host EV Zug, both sides will be looking to get closer to securing their place in the Round of 16.
Munich know that a regulation win will seal their advancement, but not the top spot just yet depending on results elsewhere. Munich are in the top spot currently and will hope that when they host Zug on Tuesday night, a win will mean they are through with one game to spare.
The 2018/19 CHL finalists have had a high-scoring offense through the first four games, with both Ben Street and Frederik Tiffels on seven points each, while Street and Trevor Parkes lead with three goals to their names.
For Zug, they're on the outside looking in, knowing a win in regulation will see them leapfrog Munich in the standings, potentially into first place depending on other results.
Lino Martschini has been on fire for Zug through the CHL this year. With nine points, he leads the entire competition and the Swiss side will hope he can continue to impress, while they'll also turn to guys like Reto Suri and Christian Djoos to provide the offensive spark needed to help their qualification ambitions.
