- Both Zug and Munich are searching to qualify for the Playoffs
- Zug currently sit second in Group D
- Munich on the outside looking in on the qualification spots
It's set to be a tight finish in Group D, with Rögle Ängelholm already qualified, it's going to be a tense battle as second place EV Zug take on third place Red Bull Munich in the battle to qualify.
The advantage went to Zug last week, with a 4-3 win seeing them take second place thanks to a goal in the final minute by Jan Kovar to seal the victory. It was a cagey affair between Zug and Munich in Germany, which sets the stage nicely for another cagey, but fierce contest on Wednesday night.
Samuel Kreis secured three assists for Zug in the contest, taking him to five points in three games so far, while Lino Martschini hit double figures in points with his assist taking him to ten points of the year.
For Munich, it was a rare mistake that cost them a point with the game looking destined for overtime, so when they travel to Switzerland they'll be looking to avenge that.
Frederik Tiffels has been excellent in the competition so far, and he added two goals to his name in the loss last week, so he'll once again be one to watch on Wednesday, while Munich still have former CHL MVP Trevor Parkes in their lineup, and a goalie with plenty of experience in Danny aus den Birken who'll be looking to make up for the mistake that led to the game winner for Zug last week
