- Things are wide open in Group G heading into the final two games
- Rouen are bottom but still well in contention to qualify
- Rungsted sit third but tied with second place Donbass on points
It's set to be a great finish to Group Stage action in Group G, with all four teams still in qualification contention. The Rouen Dragons host Rungsted Seier Capital in the first of two games between the sides, with Rouen hoping a win could leapfrog them from bottom into second place depending on other results, while Rungsted will be hoping to upset Rouen at home with qualification ambitions of their own.
Rouen only have one win to their name so far, but with an overtime loss to group leaders KAC Klagenfurt in their first game, that puts them on four points and still well in contention to progress.
While goal scoring hasn't been easy for them, with Anthony Guttig leading the team with two goals through four games, they have had some solid and reliable goaltending from Matija Pintarič who has averaged less than three goals against per game so far.
For Rungsted, they have had many games go to overtime through the first four games, with only one ending in regulation - a 5-1 loss to Klagenfurt. Two of those overtime games have ended in Rungsted's favour, with Hampus Gustaffson sealing their last game in overtime against HC Donbass Donetsk for his second goal of the tournament, tied for the team lead with Marcus Olsson.
It's all to play for in this tie!
