Mountfield HK will travel to France to face Grenoble on Game Day 2, with both teams having lost on Game Day 1 and in search of securing their all-important first win of the season.
Mountfield had their work cut out for them against four-time CHL Champions Frölunda Gothenburg in their opening game of the season. Captain Radek Smoleňák scored his club's first goal of the season, but three unanswered goals in the second frame and one Max Friberg tally on the powerplay under two minutes before the final buzzer cemented their 4-2 loss.
The Czechs suffered three powerplay goals against so heading into their second game that is their main are of improvement.
Grenoble's Dylan Fabre got his side off to a fantastic start against back-to-back DEL champions Eisbären Berlin but eight unanswered goals later, his side found themselves 8-1 down - not the start they were hoping for. Julien Munoz scored late in the final third to finalise the score to 8-2.
If Grenoble are to avoid such as scoreline against Mountfield, they will have to play more on the puck and get themselves into more offensive chances.
