- Mountfield have won their last two games
- Frölunda are on a three-game winning streak
- Their last match-up was a 4-2 victory in favour of the Swedes
With their first match-up done and dusted Frölunda Gothenburg got bragging rights over Mountfield HK with a 4-2 victory. Since then the Czechs have gone on to beat French contenders Grenoble 4-3, and 3-2 respectively. Similarly, Frölunda have found success twice against Eisbären Berlin 7-1, and more recently 3-2.
With nine points already accrued, and a three-game wining streak in place, the Swedes look primed to take the top spot in Group G. Forwards Ryan Lasch and Max Friberg look to be uncontainable with six and five points apiece. Netminders Lars Johansson, and Frederik Dichow are also sporting solid save percentages of 93.33 and 92.31 respectively.
Although Mountfield have not been quite as prolific in scoring, their go-to men have generated respectable numbers over three games so far. Forwards Oliver Okuliar and Jakub Lev have each netted three points, while Canadian defenceman Jérémie Blain has also tallied three points (2G, 1A).
Netminder Jan Růžička has played the most minutes thus far, and has a save percentage of 84.62, while Finnish teammate Henri Kiviaho is sitting on a save percentage of 82.35 after 60 minutes of regular playing time.
For Mountfield to have success against the team from Gothenburg they're going to need alot of good things to synchronise: a well-executed physical game, minimal penalties, and alot of quality scoring opportunities. Can the the Czech hosts break the three game winning streak of Frölunda, or will the Swedes break Mountfield first?
