- Group C gears up for its third match
- Munich ready to take their next win
- Slovan will need to bring their best after first loss
Despite being national champions of Slovakia, Slovan Bratislava are off to a slow start after their defeat in their first match of the 2022/23 season of the Champions Hockey League against Tappara Tampere.
If they want to change course early on, they will need to dust themselves off and get ready for their next major opponent, Red Bull Munich.
Slovan will be smart to keep number 9, Ben Street, in their view, as he scored half of the goals in Munich’s match against Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. With 31 shots on goal in their first match, Munich are off to a solid start, showcasing their strength and experience as a team.
However, Slovan did manage to wake up in the third period, as they mustered some fighting spirit as they battled it out against Tappara. Samuel Takáč scored the team’s first goal at 41:26 and fellow teammate William Rapuzzi took the momentum further securing their second goal at 45:32.
Unfortunately, Slovan’s moment would prove short, despite the home advantage. Let’s see if their second chance at home will garner a win.
With Munich’s memory still fresh on last year’s loss in the CHL Semi-Finals, they are surely itching for redemption.
