- Playoffs qualification out of the picture for both clubs
- Rapperswil have recorded one OT win up to this point
- Slovan haven't scored any points so far this season
Game Day 5 will bring us the debut face-off between Slovan Bratislava and Rapperswil-Jona Lakers at Ondrej Nepela Arena. The Slovakian team is in desperate need for a win and points as they have suffered four consecutive losses in their second CHL appearance.
This necessity is not lost on their Head Coach Jan Pardavy who expressed: “Last year, in a very tough group, Slovan were not able to get a single point. So, the obvious goal is to do much better this time. We will do our best to establish Slovan on the European hockey stage.”
It hasn’t been an easy run for the Swiss newcomers either, with three losses behind them in their first CHL season. Rapperswil did manage to snatch their first victory in overtime against Tappara Tampere after Jordan Schroeder shot one passed Christian Heljanko.
Has the break between games given Slovan the power to snatch their first CHL points or will Rapperswil come for their second?
