- Tappara looking for second win
- Munich ready to fight for first
- Both Group C teams qualified for playoffs
Tappara Tampere are heading home to welcome Red Bull Munich for their second duel on 11 October. Both teams from Group C have already qualified for the Playoffs, accumulating twelve points each.
In their first face-off, Tappara managed to snatch the win in a shootout, resulting in a 4-3 victory on the road. The Finnish club have been enjoying a successful hockey season, both at home and abroad. As 2022 Liiga champions, the Finns were also the Runners-Up in last year’s Champions Hockey League. After taking out Munich in the Semi-Finals, they lost 2-1 to Rögle Ängelholm in the Final.
As for Munich, they have also held their own throughout their 6th CHL season, as they are currently in the lead for Group C. With four consecutive wins and last week's shootout loss against Tappara, the German club have snatched up a solid twenty-one goals thus far, as they hit the road to meet their Finnish rivals.
If Tappara want to secure their second win against Munich, they’d be smart to keep top scorer Ben Street in full view as he’s got seven goals on the board in his second season in Munich.
Giving Munich something to think about are Niko Ojamkäki and Jere Henriksson, who have both snatched three goals each thus far.
Will Tappara take a second win from Munich, or will the Germans come ready to settle the score? Stay tuned to find out!
