- Mannheim have won 3/4 games so far this CHL season
- Home advantage vs breakthrough desire
- Tychy aiming for this season’s first victory
The SAP Arena in Mannheim is set to host an exciting European showdown as German powerhouse Adler Mannheim go head-to-head against Polish national champions GKS Tychy.
Mannheim enter this match-up holding a solid 3-1 record so far in thid year’s CHL campaign. They showcased good offense and resilience against the Växjö Lakers on GD1, followed by a brave performance against Swedish powerhouse Skellefteå AIK that ended in a 3-1 loss for the Germans. That, however didn’t dampen the team’s determination, and they won a tight battle against Bordeaux Boxers 5-4 the following week and on Game Day 4, in a clash against Fribourg-Gottéron, they put up a fight and eventually edged out Fribourg with a narrow 4-3 win to enter Game Day 5 on the verge of qualification on the Playoffs - pending some final points.
Tychy have faced some top-tier opponents so far. Despite hauling up incredible effort, they ended up with a no-win record from their opening four matches against Dynamo Pardubice, HC Pilsen, HC Davos and Genève-Servette. With the Poles still looking for their breakthrough win, there will be a lot of pressure on them to perform on the road against Mannnheim as they hope to flip the odds.
Expect a gripping battle as Mannheim look to use their home advantage to control the game, while Tychy will fight hard to secure their first CHL victory of this season.
