- Both teams are respective national champions
- Bordeaux have four points from the road but looking for first points at home
- Pardubice among CHL leaders in PP (4th) and PK (tied 2nd)
French champions Bordeaux Boxers enter Game Day 5 of the Champions Hockey League Regular Season with four points – just one below the Playoff cut-off line. They face a stiff test in their last home game in the form of Dynamo Pardubice, the reigning Czech champions who sit fourth in the standings with nine points.
After taking four of six points on the road to start, the Boxers were skunked in their first two home games, so will try to get back on the winning path. They have surrendered a CHL-high 19 goals so far but have respectable offence with 13 goals. Enzo Carry and Baptiste Bruche lead with four points each, while Quentin Papillon has been one of the CHL’s busier netminders with 104 saves in four games.
Pardubice opened with two straight shutouts and have been one of the CHL’s stingiest teams so far with only six goals against – they also have the fourth-best powerplay (29.41%) and second-best PK (91.67%). Matěj Stránský and Lukáš Sedlák lead the team with five points each and eight players have at least three points. Roman Will and Malcom-Jamal Subban have split the goaltending duties evenly and each have a shutout.
