The Champions Hockey League will once again go to the Swiss Alps as HC Davos welcome German champions Eisbären Berlin to the VAT Arena for an epic showdown for much-needed points.

For Berlin, the journey will be hard after a recent letdown. Berlin heavily outshot Genève-Servette in their Game Day 1 clash, but the home team was armed with brilliant goaltending and good shooting efficiency, resulting in six goals in total, securing the Swiss side a 6-2 victory.

Early mistakes in defence resulted in two goals already in the first five minutes, but Berlin mounted up some strength and levelled the score thanks to two incredible first-line players Gabriel Fontaine and Ty Ronning. However, four unanswered goals from Genève flipped the game on its head. Unburdened by their recent setback, Berlin will sure be looking to utilize their incredible work ethic, finally getting themselves the points they deserve.

Home team Davos claimed their first points of the season with a hard-fought 3-2 win thanks to Rasmus Asplund who scored the overtime powerplay winner against Strohamar. Storhamar opened the scoring 4 minutes in, but Davos responded immediately with Filip Zadina levelling the score and then another from the Czech ex-NHLer to put Davos into the lead. But not for long, the Norwegian team squared things up before first frame’s end. After two scoreless periods, the game went into OT, where Davos capitalized on a too-many-men penalty assisting Asplund in netting the game-winner.

Will Davos defend home ice, or will Berlin bounce back in style? Expect fireworks as these two teams collide.
