Genève-Servette put on a scoring clinic against Eisbären Berlin, defeating the Germans 6-2 in their first win of the season. Their Norwegian challengers weren't as fortunate, as Storhamar Hamar fell in OT 3-2 to HC Davos. 

Storhamar were the first to light the lamp, thanks to a goal by Austin Cangelosi, and managed to match the pace of their Swiss counterparts, with Joe Gatenby eventually tying the contest in the final stanza. But a costly penalty in OT would be their undoing. Despite the loss, the Norwegians did well in several areas of the ice, creating chances and keeping Davos to a minimum with 23 blocked shots to the Swiss' 11. Looking ahead, containing Genève's offence should be a top priority as the Swiss are currently tied for first in Goals For.

For Genève, their main focus should be on maintaining their momentum. A convincing win against Berlin proves the Swiss are capable on both sides of the puck and this should continue to be their mentality heading into this contest. To do that, they'll need that same production from the likes of Markus Granlund, James Vesey, and Jesse Puljujärvi - each of whom registered three points against the Germans. Having this trio continue to tick gives Genève that edge that could prove too much for the Norwegians.
