- Foxes qualify with a regulation win
- Tychy still trying to find Poland's first CHL points
- Group C could be thrown wide open if the hosts get something from the game
GKS Tychy go in search of Poland's first ever CHL points on home ice for the final time this season as they host the HC Bolzano.
The Poles came close to beating IFK Helsinki in their opening game, and were narrowly beaten in Finland by a late goal, but as yet have nothing to show for their efforts. In the Polish league they sit second, losing their last game but having been on a run of four straight wins before then. Former Yunost Minsk forward Andrei Mikhnov has eight domestic goals so far, and is one of the league's top goal-scorers.
HC Bolzano have started their defence of the EBEL title well, sitting joint second in the table after eight rounds. Forward Mike Blunden has been a revelation so far with 6+6 across those games, making him one of the league's most productive players. After last night's defeat for IFK Helsinki, the Foxes need just three points over the two games with Tychy to secure their place in the next round.
