The Vienna Capitals would not have expected to be playing their second CHL home game this season having to win to avoid being eliminated, but that's what is on the line tonight. Defeat for the Capitals and win for EV Zug would see the Austrians gone by the end of Game Day 4.
Two road losses together with the home defeat to JYP two nights ago were not the European dream the Capitals had. Now they face the Neman side that beat them in overtime on opening night. "They're a very good technical side and we're going to have to go out and give our best," said Andreas Nödl of the Capitals. "It's not over yet. We get a win tomorrow and then take something from our last two games and we can still make the next round."
"I think we've prepared well for the tournament, and in every game given our best effort so far," said Head Coach Sergei Pushkov. "We didn't start the game in Zug well but played a good two periods, and were unlucky in the end."
