- Frölunda hold 6-3 advantage heading into the second leg
- Two goals from Rhett Rakhshani helped Frölunda in the first leg
- Connor Allen scored a hat trick in last week's meeting
There are just 60 minutes of regulation between the Frölunda Indians and their fourth Champions Hockey League final, but despite holding a lead, they'll still have to overcome HC Pilsen who have ambitions of their own to overtune their current deficit and become only the second Czech team to reach the final.
Frölunda last featured in the grand final in 2016-17, winning their second title in a row in their third straight final, and now will have a 6 - 3 lead heading into the second leg.
This is the furthest HC Pilsen have gone in the Champions Hockey League in their second appearance, being knocked out in the round of 32 in 2016-17.
Pilsen will have the luxury of home ice for the meeting between the two sides, but will need more than just Connor Allen to step up offensively if they're to overturn the three goal difference. The US born defenseman registered three goals in the first leg, to give him five points in this years competition, but they do have some other great offensive weapons like Milan Gulas who's a contender for CHL MVP this year, who trails only Red Bull Munich's Trevor Parkes for the tournament lead in goals, with Gulas currently on eight goals compared to Parkes' nine.
It's set to be a great contest between the two sides, both of whom have 44 goals in this years campaign each, tied for the tournament lead, while Frölunda have allowed the fewest goals of the teams still left in the tournament.
The Indians had a boost when forward Ryan Lasch returned to the lineup after missing time through injury, and he wasted no time in the first leg to make an impact with a three-point performance, and he'll be one of the key guys to watch out for that will look to help Frölunda fight off any comeback attempt HC Pilsen attempt, as they look to set up a meeting in the grand final with either Red Bull Salzurg or Red Bull Munich.
