Kometa Brno twice led last week in Jyväskylä before a late goal from the hosts pegged the game back to a tied score.
Now on home ice Kometa, who are unbeaten in their own arena in the CHL, will look to go further on their maiden CHL adventure. They go into the game having only played once over the weekend – a comfortable 4-1 home win over Mladá Boleslav on Friday night ending a two-game Extraliga losing streak.
Jan Süss bagged his first professional hat trick last week and thinks home comforts will help his team. “With our fans behind us, I believe we'll have a slight advantage,” said the 18-year-old, who also got his first Extraliga goal on Friday, too. “It was too bad we couldn't hold on to the lead, but it was still a good result (last week).”
JYP also snapped a similar streak in the Liiga, beating Lahti Pelicans 5-2 away on Saturday. The visitors will, however, be without captain Juha-Pekka Hytönen after he was handed a two-game suspension following an incident in the first leg.
“We have to be better, especially defensively,” said forward Anntti Suomela on the return game. “We defended badly. We had a lot of scoring chances… but three goals against is too many.”
