Cardiff can’t mathematically qualify, and Växjö have already made the next round, but there is still much to play for at Ice Arena Wales.
The Devils go into this having beaten Davos in their last CHL outing, and with a taste of what a European win feels like will be determined to add to their points tally.
“There is no room for error against one of the top teams in all of European Hockey,” explained player-coach Andrew Lord. “We need to stay out of the box, and we need to play at their pace; make smart decisions and move the puck simply and effectively.”
The Lakers have yet to lose at all in the SHL, and have dropped points only by winning post 60 minutes. A win of any sort should see them top the group.
"We are very excited to face a different kind of hockey than we’re used to," said head coach Sam Hallam of the trip to Wales. "For many of our players, it will be the first time they play against a team from the UK.”
