British side Nottingham Panthers are under no illusions about how hard tonight's game against Mountfield HK will be. The team from the EIHL beat the Czech side last week on their own ice in one of this season's biggest shocks so far, and return to home ice knowing that another win would put them in contention to make the next round.
"It was a great win but has probably made teams sit up and take notice of us now," explained Panthers' Captain Stevie Lee. "No-one will be under-estimating us and we'll expect that Mountfield especially will be out for revenge."
For Mountfield and Czech hockey it was the most surprising defeat since Dynamo Pardubice's loss to Bolzano in the first CHL season. "We weren't able to take out chances, that was the biggest difference," said Dominik Graňák after the loss. "It was their goalie's day, he made some big saves, but we can't look for any excuses."
